1978 Mustang Club of America Eastern Nationals

This MCA Eastern National represents several beginnings...for the First Tennessee Regional Group, it was our very first MCA National Show.

The membership of the First Tennessee Regional Group in 1978 was 70 members strong and was the LARGEST regional group in the United States.

There were 97 cars entered in the 1978 MCA Eastern National Mustang Show coming from 21 states.

1st Place 1965-66 Coupe Stock:  Hunter Perkins with a 1965 Coupe

2nd Place 1965-66 Coupe Stock:  Jimmy Horne with a 1965 Coupe

1st Place 1965-66 Fastback Stock:  Max Epps with a 1965 GT Fastback

3rd Place 1965-66 Fastback Stock:  Warren Long with a 1965 Fastback

3rd Place 1965-66 Convertible Stock:  Charles Cary with a 1965 Convertible

1st Place 1967-68 Coupe Stock:  Alvie Bright with a 1968 Coupe

2nd Place 1967-68 Coupe Stock:  Sid Miller with a 1968 Coupe (Joel Williams owns this car today)

1st Place 1967-70 Fastback Stock:  Jack Ladd with a 1967 GT Fastback

1st Place 1971-73 Fastback Stock:  Freddie Jones with a 1973 Fastback

2nd Place 1971-73 Fastback Stock:  Norma Williams with a 1972 Mach 1

3rd Place 1971-73 Fastback Stock:  Victor Gates with a 1973 Fastback

2nd Place 1971-73 Convertible Stock:  Bill Henderson with a 1973 Convertible

1st Place 1965-73 Coupe Modified:  Don Wolfe with a 1965 Coupe

1st Place 1965-73 Fastback Modified:  William (Jackie) Meade with a 1972 Mach 1

3rd Place 1965-73 Fastback Modified:  David Elkins with a 1965 Fastback

1st Place 1965-73 Convertible Modified:  Ralph Smith with a 1965 Convertible

3rd Place 1965-73 Convertible Modified:  Wayne Bryant with a 1965 Convertible

2nd Place 1969-71 Boss Stock:  Bobby Carroll with a 1971 Boss 351
